How I AI

This is not examples of what I use AI for. Although some of that will likely come up, because it helps demonstrate the results I achieve with How I AI. This is a discussion of some of the techniques and conventions I have used with various AI collaborators.

I feel that I have achieved some pretty cool things and dodged many of the pitfalls that have snared other AI users. I do, indeed, share some of the successes we have had, to demonstrate how well these strategies have worked for me.

Please note: the name of this project is not "How you Should AI." This is a narrative of my style. Take from it any part you like and leave any part you don't.

Whether or not you have taken the AI Literacy Course, this is an interesting set of data that you can apply (or not) to your own use of Large Language Models.

One live example of the results of my Iterative, Collaborative approach is this website. I didn't say: "Go forth! And build me a website from scratch that is awesome and make all the text be in my voice. GO!" We worked on this for several days and this was the result of a long iterative collaboration with Claude Code CLI. (See the Attribution section at the bottom of the home page.)

There are really three versions of that attribution: the really long one (the actual blow-by-blow, which stays between me and the AI), a shortened public version (worth reading, but still a choice), and a one-line summary. Honestly, you only need that last part. The long version is process. The paragraph is a choice you make. But that last line, I'd argue, is the bare minimum for anyone using AI and being honest about it.
